What started out as a classroom doodle grew into something a little bit bigger. The greatest challenge was the skin - Bane’s range of expressions is hard to convey because half his face is covered by a mask, so the intensity and physicality has to be represented in texture. On top of trying to get the batshit (hah, see what I did there) insane glint in his eyes, I tried to bring that out through the scars criss-crossing his head.

Chris’ approach had always been that he had wanted to do what Donner had done with Superman. He really wanted to populate the world with amazing actors because that’s the way it feels real to an audience

Seriously, look at Ra’s (Liam). If that isn’t a Bane look I don’t know what is. That annoyed Bane look just before Bane snaps a neck.
